Boots has been given highly commended status in the Partner of the Year category at the annual Prince’s Trust Partnership Awards, for its ongoing support to its partnership with the Trust.
The Prince’s Trust is the youth charity started by King Charles when he was Prince of Wales and will soon rebrand under the name The King’s Trust.
King Charles set up the charity to tackle high youth unemployment. Boots has been in partnership with The Prince’s Trust since 2019 and is a Platinum Patron. Since then, the health and beauty retailer has supported over 500 young people with employability opportunities and skills.
The Prince’s Trust Partnership Awards celebrate the power of extraordinary partnerships and the important difference they make to support young people.
Boots was highly commended in the Partner of the Year category in recognition of its initiatives to support The Prince’s Trust since 2019, which include:
- Raising£2.3 million with the support of its team members and customers since 2019. These vital funds have helped to provide real employment opportunities to young people across the UK – building their skills, confidence and self-esteem, regardless of their backgrounds.
- Launching the ‘Get Into’ programmes in 30 Boots stores, as well as it’s warehouses and Customer Support Centre, helping to provide employment opportunities for young people across the UK. The programme is where Boots welcomes young people into these areas to participate in a two-week work experience opportunity and employability advice and support.
- Launching a digital content series named ‘Joy of the Journey’, providing practical employment advice and inspiration for young people, with episodes featuring Prince’s Trust ambassadors Fearne Cotton and Anna Whitehouse.
Natalie Gourlay, Head of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) at Boots, said: “We are incredibly proud to have been recognised at this year’s Prince’s Trust awards. We are really looking forward to celebrating five years of partnership with The Prince's Trust in February next year and delivering even more employment opportunities together as we support the charity’s rebrand to The King’s Trust.”
In addition to The Prince’s Trust, Boots also has strategic partnerships in place with The Hygiene Bank and Macmillan Cancer Support.
